Today, things are different, but that doesn’t mean I’m perfect. (Far from it, in fact.) But I do know what it takes to get back on track whenever I veer off my chosen path.

Here is the whole story.
A certified holistic health coach, raw food chef and instructor, Katie McDonald founded bnourished in 2011 in fulfillment of a vision to transform other people’s’ lives, one mindful bite at a time. Her mission is to empower you to claim your birthright of exceptional health by cultivating nourishing self-care rituals that reflect a deep respect for your body and mind.
As a witness to your journey, Katie provides a framework of accountability, validation, structure, knowledge and resources, so that you remain an active, informed participant in your well-being and learn what you need to do to be at your best.
Over 10 years ago, a successful corporate career followed by motherhood occupied Katie’s every waking moment. Suffering with asthma, allergies, ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome, pneumonia, shingles and lung infections which left her feeling depleted and depressed, the imminent threat of a compromised and shortened life span became the inspiration Katie needed to transform her relationship with both her body and mind. Since applying her knowledge of alternative health and plant-based nutrition to her life, Katie has been disease-free for close to a decade.
Katie began studying the benefits of a whole foods, plant-based diet over 25 years ago (before vegetarianism, veganism, and whole food were everyday terms). Trained at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and the Natural Gourmet Institute in New York City, she is also a member of the American Association of Drugless Practitioners and a certified Bach Flower Remedy practitioner.
Katie serves on the Board of Trustees at the Center for Resilience and is a participant of Leadership Rhode Island 2016 class.
Katie has been featured in The Huffington Post, Rhode Island Monthly, The Providence Journal, Providence Monthly, WPRI’s The Rhode Show, Dwell, Design New England, and Apartmenttherapy.com, among others. She has spoken at numerous events including the prestigious Women’s Summit at Bryant University and Spirit of Change’s Natural Living Expo, the most prominent conference in holistic health in New England. In addition to teaching at Rhode Island School of Design, Katie has delivered corporate presentations to Alex and Ani, Eileen Fisher, Hasbro, and more.
