Katie McDonald

Just a decade ago, Katie McDonald’s corporate career and motherly duties occupied her every waking moment. She was left feeling depleted and depressed — suffering with asthma, allergies, ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome, pneumonia, shingles and lung infections.

The real threat of a compromised and shortened life span became all the inspiration Katie needed to transform her body-mind relationship. Since applying her knowledge of alternative health and plant-based nutrition to her life, she’s been disease-free for nearly 10 years.

Empowering others with her life-changing journey.

In 2011, Katie founded b.nourished: a fulfillment of her vision to transform other people’s lives, one mindful habit at a time. As a certified holistic health coach, raw food chef and instructor, her mission is to empower you to claim your birthright of exceptional health. While cultivating nourishing self care rituals that reflect a deep respect for your body and mind.

As a witness to your journey, Katie provides a framework of accountability, validation, structure, knowledge and resources. Ensuring that you’re an active, informed participant in your wellbeing — one who fully understands what you need to be at your best. In fact, she’s actually been restored and transformed herself.

A true trailblazer in holistic enlightenment.

Katie began studying the benefits of a whole foods, plant-based diet over 25 years ago — even before vegetarianism, veganism, and whole food were everyday terms. Trained at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and the Natural Gourmet Institute in New York City, Katie is also a member of the American Association of Drugless Practitioners and a certified Bach Flower Remedy practitioner.

In addition to teaching at Rhode Island School of Design, Katie is a graduate in the Leadership Rhode Island 2016 class. In addition to delivering corporate presentations for Alex and Ani and Eileen Fisher, she has spoken at numerous events including the prestigious Women’s Summit at Bryant University, the keynote at Providence Business News’ Healthiest Employer awards event, and the Spirit of Change Natural Living Expo, the most prominent holistic health conference in New England.
